Puzzle The Puzzle menu provides a number of options for manipulating
and customizing your word search puzzles:
When you click Shape... on the Puzzle menu, the following
dialog box will be displayed:
The shape dialog allows you to modify the shape of the word search puzzle
by marked certain squares as "Unused". These Unused Squares are
then filled with the Unused color (see formatting)
instead of containing a letter.
The functions in the Shape dialog are:
The grid on the left shows which squares are available for letters
and which are unused. Simply click on a cell to change it between the two
states.
The Reset button makes all the squares available for letters.
The Save... and Load... buttons allow you to save the
current shape into a file and retrieve it later. You could use these options
to transfer shapes between projects or to build a library of shapes that
you use again and again.
Click the OK button to close the dialog and retain the changes
to the shape, or the Cancel button to close the dialog but discard
the changes to the shape.
Please note: You can only used shapes in the registered
version of Word Search Printer.
When you click Word Directions... on the Puzzle menu, the following
dialog box will be displayed:
By checking and unchecking the various checkboxes you can choose which
word directions will and won't be used in the puzzle.
The Update Puzzle option on the Puzzle menu generates
a new word search puzzle based on the current word list. You are not
required to choose this option when you change the word list, puzzle size or
shape as in these cases an updated puzzle will be generated automatically.
However, you can choose this option
if you are not satisfied with the current puzzle or simply want a new one.
Clicking the Update Puzzle button on the main screen
has exactly the same effect as this menu option.
