When you start Word Search Printer, you will be presented with a screen:

Main screen in Word Search Printer

The two main options allow you to:
  • Create New Word Search Project...

  • Open Existing Word Search project...
We will discuss Open later in this tutorial. For now, click Create New Word Search Project... (the same function can be achieved at any time by clicking New... on the File menu).

The following dialog box will now appear:

Creating a new Word Search project in Word Search Printer

You should use this dialog box:
  1. Use the tabs to navigate through the different categories of projects available (if you have a smaller screen, then, as shown in the above picture, there may be more tabs than can be displayed at once - in which case use the arrows next to the tabs to move through the tabs).

  2. When you find a category of projects that interests you, look through the list of projects in the list.

  3. When you have found the particular project that you want, select it with the mouse and click OK (or simply double click on the project in list).
Please note:
  • You will probably find it easiest to start from the project that is closest to what you want (or failing that the Blank project in the Simple tab), and then work from there.

  • Some of the project types have the same names as project types in our other program Bingo Card Printer. However, there are some differences between the exact items included in the word lists of the two programs, for example because 2 letter words can be used in Bingo Card Printer but can't in Word Search Printer.
