Copying

Word Search Printer includes a range of features for copying puzzles, solutions and word lists to the Windows clipboard. Once you have done this you can then switch to another program and paste the information in (in most other programs this is done by selecting Paste on the Edit menu).

The copy features are:
  • Clicking the Edit dropdown menu, the Copy submenu and then selecting Puzzle... allows you to copy the current puzzle to the clipboard.

When you select this option, the following dialog box will be displayed:

    Copy Puzzle

Select the radio button corresponding to the size that you want (Largest, Large, Medium, Small or Smallest), and then click OK to perform the copy. Click Cancel if you decide not to copy after all.

The puzzle is copied to the clipboard as a picture which you should be able to paste into most word processors (including OpenOffice.org) or graphics programs. The footer text placed under the puzzle can be changed or removed using the Layout... option on the Format menu as discussed previously.

  • Clicking the Edit dropdown menu, the Copy submenu and then selecting Solution... allows you to copy the current solution to the clipboard.

When you select this option, the following dialog box will be displayed:

    Copy Solution

Select the radio button corresponding to the size that you want (Largest, Large, Medium, Small or Smallest), and then click OK to perform the copy. Click Cancel if you decide not to copy after all.

The solution is copied to the clipboard as a picture which you should be able to paste into most word processors (including OpenOffice.org) or graphics programs. The footer text placed under the solution can be changed or removed using the Layout... option on the Format menu as discussed previously.

  • Clicking the Edit dropdown menu, the Copy submenu and then selecting Word List allows you to copy the current word list to the clipboard.

The word list is copied to the clipboard as plain text which you should be able to paste into most word processors (including OpenOffice.org) or spreadsheets.
